Our pocket size verifiers detect counterfeit, altered, duplicated and simulated vehicle identification number labels manufactured for the automotive industry by 3M and Avery Dennison. VIN labels protect VIN numbers that identify major component parts and replacement parts of new passenger vehicles.
Although both 3M and Avery Dennison labeling systems conform to the "Anti-Car Theft Act of 1992", each system differs greatly in its own special technology making it absolutely necessary to use the corresponding verifier with the matching VIN label manufacturer. Put simply, vehicles labeled with a 3M labeling system must be checked by a 3M Confirm Verifier and vehicles labeled with a Avery Dennison labeling system must be checked by the Avery Dennison Viewing Lenses. The Ultraviolet pocket blacklight is the only verifier that is utilized by both VIN labeling systems.
